Booking Guide
This guide explains how customers book through a business’s public page. The exact labels may vary by language (/en/..., /ja/..., etc.), but the flow is the same idea everywhere.
How the booking flow works
Section titled “How the booking flow works”Booking uses a single multi-step flow on the business page (not separate apps for each step). Steps can include:
- Choose a service — list with descriptions, duration, and price.
- Pick date and time — calendar and available slots from the business schedule.
- Extra questions (optional) — businesses can add custom steps or fields when that feature is enabled.
- Your details — name, email, and email verification.
- Notes / phone (optional) — if shown, complete them before review.
- Review and confirm — submit the request.
Screenshots in older docs may show more granular steps; on the live site these are usually progress steps inside one flow.
Email verification (OTP)
Section titled “Email verification (OTP)”To reduce fake bookings, you must verify your email:
- Enter your email and request a code (OTP).
- Open your inbox and copy the one-time code.
- Enter the code and complete verification before moving on.
After you submit
Section titled “After you submit”- Your request is recorded. Many businesses start bookings as pending and move them to confirmed from their dashboard — so “instant confirmation” may mean “we received it,” not always “final approval,” until the business processes it.
- You should see a confirmation screen with a booking code.
- You may also get email updates based on how the business configured notifications.
Booking status later
Section titled “Booking status later”To see status again:
- Open the booking status page (URL pattern often includes
booking-status; use the link from the business or email). - Enter your booking code and search.
Guests do not use a separate “My bookings” login in BOOKIN — use the code or contact the business for changes.
Embeds
Section titled “Embeds”Some websites embed BOOKIN in an iframe (path like /embed/<business-slug>). The steps are the same as the standalone booking page.
- Book early for busy businesses.
- Double-check date, time, and service on the review step.
- Save your booking code and confirmation emails.
Need help?
Section titled “Need help?”- Didn’t get the OTP? Wait a minute, check spam, and confirm the email address has no typos.
- Need to reschedule or cancel? Contact the business — they manage the appointment.
- For issues with the BOOKIN product itself, reach out via bookin.biz.
